Jean-Claude Nguyen
Lawyer & Tax Specialist
- Law degree (LL.L.), University of Ottawa (law & taxation)
- Returning Officer for Nunavut, Elections Canada, since May 2023
- 12+ years in federal, provincial, territorial & municipal public administration
Jean-Claude holds a law degree (LL.L.) from the University of Ottawa, with advanced studies in taxation. He guides individuals and businesses through legal and tax matters with clarity and precision.
He has served as the Returning Officer for the Nunavut riding with Elections Canada since May 2023, after working as Assistant Returning Officer for Nunavut in the fall of 2019. His proudest accomplishment: helping recruit a team of 283 employees across the 25 communities of Canada's largest electoral district.
While pursuing his law studies, Jean-Claude worked more than 12 years in federal, provincial, territorial and municipal public administration. His rich public-service experience makes him an outstanding ally to guide you through any organization's administrative process.
In his free time, Jean-Claude enjoys travelling, snowshoeing and hiking on the tundra. He is also passionate about cooking, and he will impress you around the table.
